AP Classes Breakdown

Me and couple of my friends made a breakdown of what AP Class you should take and why. This does not cover all but will cover a good amount to give a good idea to you guys.
AP Calculus AB - This class is a course for one semester of College Calculus. If you are in a position where you have taken Pre-Calculus but knows that you are not the strongest at math, then go for it. This class is pretty slow paced. This is best for non-STEM majors.
AP Calculus BC - This class is a course worth two semesters of College Calculus. This class is basically Calc AB + 2 Units. If you are going to be a STEM major or is confident with your math skills, then this is best suited for you.
AP Statistics - This class is not very difficult, as the knowledge you really need in this class is up to Algebra 2. This class is calculator and writing/analysis heavy however, the concepts are simple and as long as you know the formulas and calculate basically probability, and write conclusions, this is a good choice. Also recommended for both non-STEM and STEM Majors.
AP U.S. Government and Politics - This class is about the history of the government structures of our country and court cases that shape our current politics. Although easy to self-study, you should be able to write an FRQ well and analyze important documents and court cases. This year's test had many mixed results, so don't think this class is SUPER easy. It's not the most difficult, but can be challenging.
AP Macroeconomics - If you have never taken a class related to economics, it may be a struggle in the beginning. However, once you learn about the basic fundamentals and principles of economics, it is not too bad. Macroeconomics is the study of the whole economic market, compared to individual stores and market of Microeconomics. You will learn about Supply and Demand and so much more. You will need to learn how to use and draw graphs and change the graphs given a different situations. It's not super difficult if you study, but the foreign exchange market (Forex market) might be the most challenging.
AP English Language and Composition - This class is basically ACT or SAT Grammar sections. If you are good at grammar and are solid at writing analytical essays, this could be your class. But remember that fire-ass sounding essays does not equal a 4 or a 5. You must follow the CollegeBoard's rubric.
AP Environmental Science - One of the easier classes to self-study and is about the ecology and health of our globe. It focuses about global climate change and factors, habitats, and so much more. If you're into environmental policies or climate change around the world, this is a class for you.
AP Psychology - This class can also be self studied. It's all term based and if you can memorize vocab very well and know how to apply them in a FRQ (on the AP Test), you will get a 4/5.
AP Computer Science A - This class is about Java Programming. A good class if interested in majoring in CS or related majors in college. If you have taken APCSP or have prior coding knowledge, you should take it. If not, but is interested, suggested to look on free tutorials on youtube. It is JAVA programming, not JS.
AP Japanese/Chinese Language and Culture - Not gonna lie if you're not fluent or study a lot you're gonna be in a big disadvantage compared to fluent people. Knowing how to write characters, read characters, speak properly, and use of correct grammar is key. This is difficult, but practice can definitely help.
AP Music Theory - If you have been playing an instrument for many years and know the note structures, scales, and other musical theory components, you should take this class.
AP US History - If you are interested in the history of our country, this is a class for you. However, there are many things covered in this class, many different periods of time. If you are a solid DBQ writer and are looking into major in History, this is a class for you. However, I heard this class is article and textbook reading heavy.
Tbh all classes can be self-studied but the best APs to self study up on the list are:
- AP Calculus AB (BC if taken AB prior)
- AP Statistics
- AP U.S. Government and Politics
- AP Environmental Science
- AP Psychology
- AP Japanese / Chinese Language and Culture (If fluent don't study lol)
There is more we have but for now this should be good. :)
PM if questions.

Top 16 Forex Trading Tips You Should Know

Top 16 Forex Trading Tips You Should Know
This article will breakdown the top 16 trading tips you should consider , ranging from how you should trade, the risks you need to be aware of, how learning about trading can improve your trading performance, and much more!

https://preview.redd.it/5mtfgzf58u951.jpg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d03de717ed7528061472e763cfcb4cf34771fbef
1. Create Your Own Strategy
No list of currency trading tips is complete if it doesn't mention strategies. One of the most common mistakes beginner traders make is not creating an action plan. Figure out what you want to get out of trading. Having a clear end goal in mind will help with your trading discipline.
2. Learn Step-by-Step
As with every new practical learning activity, trading requires you to start with the basics, and move slowly until you understand the playing field. Start by investing small sums of money, and keep in mind the old adage 'slow but steady wins the race'.
3. Take Control of Your Emotions
Don't let your emotions carry you away. It can be very difficult at times, especially after you've experienced a losing streak. But keeping a level head will help you stay rational, so you can make competent choices. Whenever you let your emotions get the better of you, you expose yourself to unnecessary risks. Exercising risk management within your trading will help you to minimise the risks.
4. Stress Less
This is one Forex tip that sounds really obvious – because it really is. But guess what? Trading under stress generally leads to irrational decisions, and in live trading, that will cost you money. Therefore, identify the source of your stress and try to eliminate it, or at least limit its influence on you. Take a deep breath and focus on something else. Every person has their own way of overcoming stress – some listen to classical music, while others exercise. Listen to your mental health and learn what works best for you.
5. Practice Makes Perfect
Of all the Forex tricks and tips for beginners, this is the most important. You are unlikely to succeed at anything on your first try. Only constant trading practice can yield consistently top results. But you probably don't want to lose money while learning the basics, right?
6. Psychology is Key
Every trader is a psychologist at heart. When you're planning your next move, you have to analyse market movements and review your own psychology. You need to ask yourself questions such as:
  • Did I show signs of confirmation bias?
  • Did I make a trade out of frustration?
  • What made me choose that particular currency pair?
Mastering your psychology will protect you from many losses along the trading development path.
7. No Risk, No Success
Not even Forex trading tips and tricks can guarantee you success. When you decide to become a trader, you should have already accepted the possibility of failure. In case you didn't – here's a reality check. You won't make profitable trades 100% of the time. Don't let false advertisements get in your head, either. Instead, be realistic about your Forex trading methods and goals.
8. Patience is a Virtue
When it comes to trading, this old saying is not just a cliché. True success is never instantaneous. It's the result of consistent work and planning. Many beginner traders look for an easy, fast path to profit. Don't bother – it doesn't exist!
9. Continuous Education
Each day you trade, there's a new lesson to be learned. Look closely at the Forex market and keep all the tips you have learnt in mind. Start analysing news, trends, and financial processes, and don't neglect the Forex basics. Most importantly, study, then practise and then study some more. Repeat this process often, and you will be well on your way to fully understanding the markets.
Studying will require a lot of time and effort, but it will pay off in the long run. For starters, Admiral Markets offers the opportunity for traders to benefit from a free education centre that offers Forex tips, as well as, a range of articles and tutorials offering tips, tricks, strategies, and more, for all kinds of trading.
10. Trends are Good for You
One particularly important Forex market tip to follow is to learn about trends. The ability to spot trends is a valuable one. While we don't recommend jumping on the trend bandwagon every time, but outright ignoring the trend is a recipe for disaster. Trends can show you what is coming, so you can pro-actively adjust your trading, rather than reacting when it's too late.
11. Seek Competitive Conditions
It's important to choose top-notch service conditions and get favourable spreads. If you're considering trading with Admiral Markets, there are a range of different options available. Why not read more about them in our account types section?
12. Plan in Advance
Forex trading is not a gamble – it's a strategic game. Carefully calculate your next move before you act. You can begin formulating a plan by asking yourself some challenging questions such as:
  • Have I accounted for the possibility that I may lose?
  • What's my plan B for the different types of scenarios that may arise?
To be successful at Forex trading, you have to expect the unexpected.
13. Know the Charts
You will be trading on many different markets and will need to quickly understand the information you analyse for each trade. There are numerous tools available to traders that make trading easier, but nothing is more time-efficient than charts. Charts provide you with fast access to numerically-heavy data in the form of a simple visual, so you don't have to scroll through it.
14. Don't Run out of Chances
Eagerness is good, but there is a limit to everything. If you trade too much, you are probably harming your chances of achieving success. Why? Because overtrading usually leads to weakened focus and careless trades. As you develop your trading plan, indicate the maximum amount of trades you will make per day or week.
15. Greediness Leads to Risks
Greediness can make you take unnecessary risks as well. Set the maximum loss and desired profit within your trading plan. When you hit this level, stop and don't go for another trade. When it comes to fund management, this is one of the most important Forex tips and tricks to follow.
16. Use Stop-Losses
Our Forex daily tips don't just focus on general recommendations. We also want to mention valuable tools, such as the highly rated stop-loss. Not setting a stop-loss is basically giving you an excuse to keep a bad position open (because you're hoping that the situation improves). But bad situations rarely improve, and neither will your capital if you don't wise up fast.
A correctly placed stop-loss eliminates the risk of losing all of your money on a single bad trade. The stop-loss is especially beneficial when you don't have the ability to close positions manually.

Genesis Vision - Trading on Easy Mode - My Favorite Little Crypto Secret

Why am I writing this?
The reason for writing this is to bring awareness. I, obviously, do want Genesis Vision to succeed, but overall, I just care about making money with as little effort as possible - Genesis Vision is my vector to do so.
I have told friends about this who are not at all involved in the crypto space, I manage some of their investments for them, and it makes me smile like a lunatic when I hear "Dude, I can't believe I just made X% profit in Y days, this can't be real. Thank you" [I also love beer or food as thank you gifts]. I want my friends and I to never have to worry about money again.
Before you get any further, I want you to know that I am not here to convince anybody, but to share a good thing that I have found after obsessively researching cryptoccurrency since April 2017. I believe the best forms of "business" are done when both the company and the users make money.

What the fuck is Genesis Vision?
Something that sounds too good to be true usually is - Usually.
Enter Genesis Vision [GV]
I will not guide you through the Genesis Vision website, I'm sure youtube has a few tutorials for you. I just want to share how simple it can be to make money through this platform.
At its core Genesis Vision works like this:
How to use Genesis Vision - The extreme basics
Using Genesis is simple.
Buy GVT -> deposit GVT into the GV wallet -> select a trading manager from a list -> GVT gets converted to BTC/ETH/USD/USDT depending on the market the manager is trading in -> Manager invests your 'GVT' -> Profits gets paid out to investors or reinvested.
The beauty with the platform, aside from its simplicity, is the ability to see a trading manager's statistics in terms of number of trades, successful trades, profit in a certain time period, the trades they are doing/have done, and more. This information is for more advanced users, I rather stick to simple and easy right now.

My Low Effort Strategy
So, let's dive right in - This won't take long. There's 2 scenarios to consider when using this platform - Is the Cryptocurrency market going up or is it going down?
I advise to stick with minimum 7 day programs and to sort by profit in a month's or all time span.

Is the Crypto market going down? Buy GVT -> Invest GVT into a trading manager whose base currency is USD [As of now trading this means they are trading on the Forex Market]
Reasoning: If the Cryptoccurency market is going down one will want to invest their money into a manager which is trading on a USD market. Currently, the only market available on GV which uses USD is the Forex (Fiat currency) market. While Cryptocurrency is going down, it is possible to invest your money into a trading manager trading in the Cryptoccurency space and you may find yourself with profits around the 20% range in a matter of 1-90 days, depending on your level of risk and which trading manager you choose - Nevertheless this would be a fools move, imo.
Investing into a trading manager using USD means that the GVT is converted to USD, which means that you are no longer affected by Cryptocurrency prices. Instead your GVT has now been converted to USD and the trading manager is using now using your USD to execute trades.
Is the crypto market going up? Buy GVT -> Invest GVT into a trading mananger whose base currency is a Cryptoccurency
Reasoning: I don't think I need to give you a reason here. If you can have someone else, who has more knowledge or resources than you trade in this Cryptomarket FOR YOU and profit FOR YOU, why would you not?

Mainfinex: The Panacea to the Future

Mainfinex: The Panacea to the Future

Mainfinex

MAINFINEX offers a trusted exchange that crypto traders can use to make informed trades and participate in the cryptocurrency market. At the time of launch, MAINFINEX offers 15 different cryptocurrency pairs, all of which include USDT. The MAINFINEX cryptocurrency exchange offers something for every type of trader, regardless of experience level. Beginners will appreciate the intuitive interface and the fact that MAINFINEX uses Tradingview charts, which have numerous online tutorials for guidance. Advanced traders will appreciate the hundreds of drawing tools, the vast quantity of indicators, and high level of customization for charts.
Challenges faced by cryptocurrency exchanges today:
● Failure to apply global financial practices, and poor interface
● Large number of exchanges with little differentiation which complicates the choice of platform for operations
● Large number of unsuccessful traders losing money
● Pain points that are still there.

Exchange
Our understanding of the needs of the key trading parties in digital exchanges comes down to the concept “Traders seek liquidity and investors need profitability.”
  1. Liquidity and profitability
A mechanism we could build in to solve the problems of traders and long-term investors based on the exchange policy related to
trading fees:
  • Flexible interest rate depending on the volume, thus reducing the trading fee. The more activity in a trading section, the cheaper it is for that section
  • Fees reduced in case of severe price deviation. To reduce volatility and slippage and thus increase liquidity, market-making traders creating liquidity will be charged at a lower rate. The increase in volumes triggered by the reduced fee in case of price deviation will help smoothen out volatility.
  1. Reliability
Traders bearing losses have a regressive fee scale depending on the volume of the loss. This mechanism serves to mitigate the consequences of unfavorable deals for a trader.
  1. Sustainability “Back to the battle” Traders who have lost money but made it to the daily TOP 100 based on the volume will receive tokens compensating all the fees they paid or part of the losses. This will help stimulate liquidity in the exchange and create best cryptocurrency market conditions for arbitrage funds. Such funds account for up 80% of transaction in fiat exchanges.
  2. Concept: gaming elements of the exchange, buttons, etc. “Titles and statuses” With the emergence of cryptocurrencies, the world of finance has been transformed. It has to be clear and relevant for our users since the key audience of the exchange is 25-38 years old. Which means they played DOOM 2 when they were school students (in 1994). Why can’t we give simple names to complex financial instruments? It was the stunts and dirty tricks that guys in suits from investment banks played that eventually caused the mortgage crisis. We have selected the most popular financial instruments that we can provide. They can be understood and activated in one click. We have chosen simple names for them:
● "Forecast”
This button activates an analytical indicator used by most profitable traders
● "Call for help”
Activates a trading robot that will close transactions for you based on algorithms. Trading robots will be provided by successful third party funds
● "Stop me”
Block trading activity for two days. This is a mechanism that successful traders recommend to newbies. Breaks in trading activity help increase the accuracy of decisions and overall profitability
● "Join the group”
This function lets the user transfer money to a pool of professional traders. Similar to PAMM accounts in forex companies
● “Saving up for retirement”
10% from each profitable transaction will be automatically transferred to the annual/call deposit. Many experienced traders who work for themselves do not care about savings because trading is a constant source of big income. Having such a long-term deposit is one of the key ways to ensure security and can even save a family in the bad times
● “Work for us”
Traders without substantial deposits but with free working hours can make money by performing important tasks for the exchange, like in Amazon Mechanical Turk
● “Vanity fair”
Most successful traders may share their divine trading strategies in a master class for traders, with payment in our tokens.
  1. To benefit from certain options like the trading robot or funds management, users will be required to perform specific actions, e.g.: Purchasing exchange tokens. Equivalent free options: e.g., reposting our news daily throughout a month, which will also help expand the user’s subscriber base.
  2. Purchasing liquidity from “mini exchanges”
A partner exchange that will provide liquidity for trading in our exchange or display our depth of market diagram on its website will receive all the relevant fees collected in our tokens. This is how this mechanism works. Mini exchanges have a permanent audience of traders creating liquidity but due to the small volumes, the mutual liquidity among the participants is low and transactions are infrequent. This is a case of “the chicken or the egg” problem. The more users there are, the more frequently the transactions occur between the same users. Accordingly, a mini exchange will be able to increase the volume of fees collected by 3-4 times by using this opportunity.
  1. IEO sale
A shopping cart with all kinds of tokens. Includes both potentially successful and unsuccessful coins that cannot afford to pay the listing fee on their own. We collect the entire pool in a cart and sell it as one portfolio at a greatly reduced price. This gives unsuccessful ICO projects an opportunity to return part of the invested funds. And the users buying such assets at a rate below the cost level have more chances of profiting from price growth. The higher risk of unsuccessful projects in the portfolio compensated by the low price and the potentially high profitability is the key incentive.
  1. Exchange Tutorial
Just like in complex computer games such as urban construction simulators or turn-based strategies, at the first stage the player is taught how to use the game’s functionalities before he starts playing it in the full mode. Finance and cryptocurrencies have never been simple. Every individual financial instrument is based on a complex concept. The simplicity of starting to trade cryptocurrencies and the lack of regulation in the market result in a situation when most traders lose their money and investments. The tutorial works the same simple way, providing prompts on the sequence of the steps in the exchange. We will cooperate with several financial regulators to improve this instrument in order to develop new instruments that will help mitigate the risk of losses for each individual trader. At the end, many of the regulators’ tasks come down to managing the consequences of the great financial gap between trading parties.

Help with ForexConnect API and FXCM

Hey guys,

I am rather new to algorithmic trading. I chose the ForexConnect API since it was one of the few C++ libraries that were free. I am having some difficulties, though.

I was hoping you guys would be able to help me out. I was going over the one tutorial, a simple log in and log out tutorial. Sadly, I cannot successfully connect to the URL, even if I use the one that directly connects me my demo account. Is there something I am missing here?

I have made sure that the tutorial specifies the validity of a demo account, and should be able to connect, yet somehow I am unable to.

Any and all help will be appreciated.

Start 2: 8th Failed Attempt and going for the 9th

In my previous post, I started my ventures to make some money. So here's my progress:

Income Stream No. 1: Forex

The system failed and kinda blew my $100 deposit on it. What I've learnt is that:
Did more reading and found that there's a better way to test, build and test again before I can begin selling signal subscription in the MQL market. My next step is to try and implement a Kumo Breakout with IKH. I'm keeping my strategies as simple as possible while the success metrics is that its self-sustainable on its own with less of my own intervention. I can simply test without having to go with a broker first to get my strategy working with quality data (i.e. without renting a VPS and downloading all of the data to my machine for backtesting). By utilising tickstory.com, I can just download all of the Dukascopy tick data and then back test from there. Of course, this is going to be different if I were to trade with a broker account because spreads. Will adjust later but for now, I have to focus on building my signal service.

Income Stream No. 2: Amazon

I have to cancel this and won't follow-through. Instead I'm moving towards Income Stream No. 3 instead. Problem was that I didn't find the time to contact suppliers and ask for rebranding or customization on interested items that I would to sell and resell on Amazon FBA. Family came first so... yeah...

Income Stream No. 3: SaaS

Good news, it's almost ready. Building a multi-tenant app with Django was very tasking on my time especially with the setup. I've had bumps in the past month with my machine not being able to load the configuration set up for my Postgresql Database. I was trying to build a High Availability Cluster set up but it took too long, so I'll have to build that part later. Deploying on AWS is harder than I thought though. Damn security groups, couldn't load properly. I guess I have to hit up Youtube tutorials on AWS for being such a noob.
Bad news, is whats pending at the moment an activated Stripe account. I'm still waiting for my LLC to go through its approval process (registered with a Delaware agent) and should come at any time soon. Once I have an LLC registered, I should be able to apply for an EIN at the same time. So until that happens, I'll need to quickly build my SaaS app with a test Stripe account until it's MVP ready.

In the End

If at first you don't succeed, try again after you learn your mistake(s). Even if it means blowing your deposit and sacrificing sleep!

Looking for Beta Users for Groundbreaking P2P Swap Trading System, Maximum Leverage, Minimum Risk, All Markets

I'm looking for traders to take positions (either in agreement with, or contrary to) my research/opinion or using your own trade setups and fundamental/macro outlook - via our P2P swap platform. You can use actual capital or I can give you test capital, basically, play money, to trade with me and my team and all I ask for is feedback on the system and the ability to quote you (which is not mandatory, but it would be nice). You can trade stocks, bonds, commodities, forex and forex pairs long or short, or swap the exposures directly for another asset, ex. S&P 500 for the LSE 100, Apple for Google, etc. Fees start at 5 bp, the best available from anywhere. Digital leverage is available, up to 10,000x worth (double digit profits/losses can be had from 11 basis points in movement, or less - so be careful), with no possibility of a Margin Call since the trades are pre-funded. If you think the opportunity is worthwhile, feel free to contact us or see info sheet below for more...
Macro Trading Has a New Power Tool: Peer to Peer, Counterparty Risk-Free Swaps for Value Transfer & Trading
Trade the value of over 45,000 tickers of instruments in every asset class from every major geography and exchange with up to 10,000x pricing leverage without concerns of counterparty/credit/default risk or margin calls. Very big claims… substantiated by a very big discovery in value transfer and security.
Veritaseum is the worldwide leader in the financial implementation of “smart contracts” – unbreakable, self-executing bilateral agreements between two or more parties. We use these smart contracts to create peer to peer swaps for the transfer of value through the “blockchain,” a worldwide, open ledger of pseudonymous transactions that can be seen and audited by anyone, any time in the cloud. The blockchain is considered unhackable and one of the most secure implementations of cryptography to date.
With the use of financial “wallets”, client side applications that use a simple interface to guide users in the quick (as in minutes – enter ticker(s), amount to risk, collateral, expiry and leverage required) creation of a smart contract (in this case a P2P swap), users trade OTC directly with other parties – totally bypassing and intermediating exchanges, with even less risk. Monetary value is committed up front, a leverage factor is digitally dialed in (anywhere from 2x to 10,000x) and the smart contract is created and sent to the blockchain to await a match. Once matched, the funds are locked into the transaction until expiry, at which point profits and losses are distributed along with principal and unused collateral (the capital chosen to be put at risk). A novel, risk averse, extremely powerful, and quite frankly - ingenious way to trade macro strategies.
Not only can one go long or short any ticker in any asset class from any region for any currency, one can go long one ticker relative to another. For instance, those with a bearish outlook on the S&P 500 normally short it for USD. You can now short (pay) the S&P 500 index directly while going long (receiving) Eurozone equities (or 10 year treasury yields, or Swiss francs or the CNYJPY pair or bitocin), in a single transaction – with or out without leverage.
Since the exchange is peer to peer, we never hold or control any of your assets, hence you are not exposed to our balance sheet, credit, default or counterparty risks (the blockchain is your effective counterparty). Veritaseum is a software concern, not a financial concern or intermediary! You can always track your assets and trade through the blockchain at any time. The capital is loaded in the wallet in the form of bitcoin, and for those who choose to minimize exposure to bitcoin market price volatility, leverage can be used to nearly eliminate the noise. You can also conduct trades using a demo mode and test coins, so as to use the system without risking actual capital.

Smart Contracts as Transaction Vehicles: The Safest Possible Way To Exchange Value

Veritaseum's UltraCoin smart contracts are: 1. highly flexible - you design your own derivatives yourself using your own parameters via our simple graphical user interface 2. self-executing 3. autonomous 4. unbreachable: we call them, the unbreakable promise! They are backed, fortified and stored by/on the blockchain itself 5. uber-transparent: simple click the "trace transaction" button to find the location and historical travel path of your assets anytime, from anywhere you have an internet connection

Trading Through a Balance Sheet-Based Financial Institution vs. Distributed, Decentralized, P2P Software Concern

What I do want to accomplish is the education through the fact that the Bitcoin protocol has given rise to the genesis of a new type of company, with a new business model that can offer a totally new type of product. As you were able to see from above, Veritaseum's UltraCoin offers a very uniquer product with many if not all of the attributes that potential competitors offer, with a slew of attributes that others can't touch. This is done at 1/5th of the price and at much less risk! When dealing with Veritaseum's UltraCoin, you can never get Gox'd because we never have (nor do we want) possession of your coins or fiat - every, at any time. Because we don't user our balance sheet (we are a software company, not a centralized exchange or brokedealer) you:
This is just the beginning of what is capable with our Internet 2.0 business models.
I implore you to download our:
There's also a lot of BTC industry research available for download as well as our blog which has some of the best fundamental and macro research available on the web. Hardcore traders, investors and speculators should check out my latest piece: It's All Out War, Pt 3: Is the Danish Krone Peg to Euro More Fragile Than Glass Beads? The Danish National Bank Infers So!
Any individuals or entities looking to provide liquidity to the system, individuals/companies who wish to partner, accredited investors looking for a piece of the action (you have to be willing to sign and NDA, we are quite open to working with anybody), or those who simply want to shoot the breeze should feel free to contact us.

Log of AMA with coindash - @alon (Alon) CEO from CoinDash.io

boldninja Let us all give a warm welcome to @alon (Alon) CEO from CoinDash.io. AMA can begin, give him some time to catch on with questions and answers.
bangomatic :clapping:
alon Hi Everyone!
jakethepanda :clapping:
tranzer hi @alon
alon Great to be here!
arigard All this BTC shit is just a storm in a teacup anyway
jakethepanda Hey @alon
dr10 Welcome
tranzer @alon how does coindash compare to Iconomi and their user-based funds you'll be able to invest / copy?
jakethepanda On top of that question, include Melonport.
5eb6o Sorry as I said I am drunk.. and I welcome everyone.. but why coindash? I mean isn't it pretty close to dash coin... or I am missing something... why not something unique
joelafc LOL
darius sup alon
welcome to the thunderdome
alon Hi, i think Melonport and ICONOMI are more of an investment instrument.. they provide a tool for people to invest in crypto assets. We are more focused on answering what peopel whould invest in and when. For that end we also intend to integrate with both of them because there is a good chance they will become a good investment instrument
tranzer are there any partnership plans already in the making with them?
dr10 So its more like a Follow Trader platform, where you do the moves that successful traders do?
alon @tranzer i can't comment on that for the next 24H :slightly_smiling_face:
ben123 Got it
alon @dr10 social trading is a great means for reducing friction for inexperienced and new traders, making crytpo trading more accessible
jakethepanda Can you briefly explain how the coin fits in to the platform?
darius ^ this
dr10 Is Coindash its own blockchain or based ontop of another?
boldninja Where do CoinDash tokens come in play? I mean where will they play a role, like paying someone subscription for private portfolio c/p or tipping or something different?
jake beat me to it
ben123 I think that's what I read about them
alon @jakethepanda we see it as fuel for using various features on the platform. If you follow someone and copy his investments you will pay a fee for that ... that fee is payed with the CDT token
@dr10 we connect to the various blockchains/ exchanges
ben123 How will you be able to compete against enigma? It's similar to your concept and they seem very promising.
tranzer When will the copy and paste functionality be introduced into your dashboard, product?
dr10 so you are your own blockchain? didnt get that
alon @tranzer we are expected to release copy-ICO towards the end of the year... until then we will work hard on the dashboard and other investor exploration (we will be rolling versions fairly fast once every 2-3 weeks)
@dr10 we are not
darius So the platform need it’s own token to tip someone? Sounds like you coulda built an app without it’s own token tbh.
its*
tranzer Are you in the talks with any of the exchange yet? Probably we'll see you on Bittrex correct?
alon not tip but reward top investors who get followed.. also the followers get financial benefit from that so its natural they will pay for it
@tranzer yes we in talks with some exchanges
jakethepanda The beta currently only allows for a link to an ETH address. Will be able to link say an ARK address, eventually?
darius Do you mean top investors are rewarded by the platform with your token? How would that work, is that based off how long they hold a top position?
alon @jakethepanda we already integrated various blockcahins and exchanges.. we will start rolling them soon
numba1enigma How do risk adjusted returns fitinto all this
alon @darius they are rewarded by the people following them as fees.
@numba1enigma that an important indicator to understand how your portfolio performs against the market. This will roll out soon alongside other indicators
darius Oh so this is taking private paid advise discords/slacks and putting them all on a platform.
Clever
numba1enigma Tell me what a sharp ratio is?
alon @darius imagine you can see the performances of the bet traders in the space, follow them and copy their investments... this is what social trading is
numba1enigma The following and payment mechanism in terms of sharp ratios
Roi of two managera without sharp ratio considerations is worthless
tranzer There is bonus in first week - 30% how will that be awarded will first week deposits count for example if you invest 1 ETH count as 1.3 ETH?
jakethepanda On top of @numba1enigma question, what kind of risk analytics will be on the platform?
alon first day is 30%... you will get immediatley 30% additional tokens
numba1enigma Byw the way iconomi and co foundit didn't know what a sharp ratio was until two months ago
alon @numba1enigma i'm not sure i follow... various indicators effect the performance and risk level of the investors. Risk adjusted returns could very much reflect how truly profitable that investor is and lets you decide how much risk you want to take by following him
darius Who are your competitors? I know there’s a platform that does this but I can’t think of their name for the life of me
alon @darius you probably are talking about eToro maybe?
numba1enigma You should take a look at markov analytic tools to bucket mutual fund returnes to rank performance
It would be helpful to you
ben123 Enigma ico is coming out in August and they seem to be a competitor also.
tranzer How many users are there already using your platform currently? How much joining lately on daily base?
jakethepanda How does fiat integration figure into the platform? Trading directly from the platform will be available?
alon @tranzer we opened the beta 11 days ago. Now we have 2.5K users with 200-250 added daily
@jakethepanda thats something we are interested in but will come in a later change. It fits very well in our mission to make crypto trading more accessible to the public
darius https://1broker.com/?c=en/home 1broker.com 1Broker.com - Bitcoin Forex & CFD Trading 1Broker connects Bitcoin with global markets. Trade forex, stocks, commodities, indices and cryptocurrencies on our minimalist platform.
That’s the one i saw a couple twitter guys say they were on
https://1broker.com/?c=en/content/copy-trader 1broker.com Copy Trader - Social Trading - 1Broker (2kB)
ben123 Seems interesting
jakethepanda I noticed that RSk is one of your partners. Will CDT also be on Rootstock?
alon We did a POC integration with RSK with the CoinDash platform a few months ago... more will be announced in the coming month (very interesting stuff)
jakethepanda Interesting
tranzer alon would you consider something like that with Ark as well? Seems like a nice fit.
alon @tranzer definitely!
jakethepanda I noticed there isn't anyone on the team with a quant finance background. Who is developing the risk/performance analytics?
alon you should learn more about Adam and Ram.. both with a lot of experience in finance (Adam opened eToro's offices in Shanghai). Most the team has years of experience in crypto trading as well
tranzer will you be able to leverage coindash coins against some investors and use other coins to trade if that makes sense?
jakethepanda Since many people in crypto are new to trading and investing will there be tutorials and investment education tools? Based on questions noobs ask they need this. (edited)
jarunik I still don't really get how adding the coin to the mix brings any advantage compared to other social trading platforms. What do I miss?
alon yes there will be tutorials and mostly beautifully made UX/ UI
tranzer how are tokens going to be saved? Will this be centralized? I mean in order to copy someone you'll need to move coins within platform no?
alon the CoinDash Token enable us to fund our activity and create an amazing community around the product who have a huge incentive to help (in our case the investors are also the end users). We tie the token to the platform so its success is also the success of the token.
so for the copy-ICO feature foe example we use smart contracts
alon uploaded and commented on this image: Pasted image at 2017_07_14 11_22 AM.png 1 Comment
BTW :slightly_smiling_face:
mike Nice looking announcement
jarunik You could just do that with a normal crowdfunding ... what incentives give the coins exactly ? (edited)
jakethepanda Will there be a mobile app?
alon yes
tranzer Where do you get current prices from CMC or have your own service?
jakethepanda The beta app doesn't seem very social. How will the future version of the app change to be more of a social platform? (edited)
alon from CryptoCompare curently
next step will be the ability to discover other investors and follow them
darius @jarunik This way they don’t have to go through VC’s to raise a $12 MM seed fund. Use the hype of ICO’s to raise it instead because people want to profit from their coin.
alon the dashboard is the data layer on top of which the social feature will come
tranzer so if 12m is raised in first day its over no additional time and some other weird rules like we have seen with few recent icos?
jakethepanda Can you discuss any of the partnerships on the web page? Antshares or Wings?
One concern I have is that whitelisted addresses are going to buy up the entire offering. Do you have any mechanisms in place to avoid this?
alon Wings we did the forecasting and used some of their tech. AntShares, Tony the CEO invested and is our advisor
jakethepanda Thanks
alon i don't think they will buy it all... its a way for us to say thank you to the people who supported us, its not a long list. 250 people list
jakethepanda You would be surprised how much money is floating around crypto. It only takes one or two whales in the 250.
darius lol
jakethepanda I can think of 10 people in crypto that can blow a big dent in that cap.
Just saying
alkar Can my profile be private if ever I don't want to share my portfolio
alon i am too but most of those people gave us huge help the past year... people who were our first social media users.. beta testers stuff like that
@alkar yes, it can be totally private
darius That’s promising
can you answer @tranzer’s question “so if 12m is raised in first day its over no additional time and some other weird rules like we have seen with few recent icos?”
alon no weird stuff... very simple ICO :slightly_smiling_face:
guys my phone might die any second so if i'm cut off its ebecause of that
tranzer that is good to hear, didn't like how some were handling recent icos, extending time, adding some last minute changes, ...
jakethepanda @alon The project looks amazing. I'm out of questions for now. I will get you in your slack if I think of more.
boldninja Any last questions for @alon as his battery might die out?
jarunik Do you have a battery bank?
jakethepanda I think it died
boldninja Can you sell battery bank energy back into the network?
alon No dead yet ;)
jakethepanda One more question. Is that Warren Buffet on your web page?
On the product page.
alon Ahah might be a caricature(my fav investor)
jakethepanda Haha
Everyone can join coindash slack https://www.coindash.io/slack/
boldninja OK I think no more questions are coming - I'd like to thank alon for taking his time to do this AMA and I wish him a good and successful launch of ICO and product later on. Hope we'll be able to cooperate further down the line. You are always welcomed here at Ark.
darius Thank you! Good luck
jakethepanda Thanks @alon
tranzer thank you for answering my questions @alon - good luck!
alon Thank you guys! Hope to see you as users of our platform

Bitcoin 1.0 vs 2.0 – or – A Comparison of Legacy Exchanges & Veritaseum's UltraCoin

Veritaseum is looking for liquidity providers to assist in kickstarting the world's first global P2P exchange. If you have a healthy stash of BTC, please contact us to discuss.
I was looking at the offerings of a large US bitcoin exchange just now, after hearing that Coinbase had the highest volume of any US-based broker just weeks after opening an exchange (we’ll discuss that at a different time, since Coinbase is waiving fees meaning those users are hot money, but likely are part of the largest installed bitcoin user base in the world and growing rapidly). What I found was illuminating, at least for me since I don’t follow the offerings of BTC brokers and exchanges that closely. I noticed several of the industry (BTC exchange) leaders offer leverage, plain vanilla swaps and TRS (total return swaps - basically fixed/variable rates in major fiat denominations for cryptocurrency (BTC. LTC, DRK) exposure). I said to myself, “Wow, that’s pretty advanced.” Then I looked at the fees, and saw the swaps were priced up to and past 15%. Then, upon further research, I realized that these swaps were financing mechanisms for margin lending. The first thing that came to mind was the difference, and limitations that come with the business models of first generation bitcoin companies and second generation Bitcoin companies. Take notice in the difference of the capitalization. Lower case "b" denotes the accounts of value that the mainstream media calls digital currency. Upper case "B" denotes the blockchain-based, protocol driven services and capabilities behind the lower case "b". Generation 1.0 v. generation 2.0!
To put this into perspective, Veritaseum's UltraCoin offers user programmable swaps (ie. you can make your own CDS, TRS or plain vanilla, or even a custom swap) with exposures to not just 3 cryptos and 3 or 4 fiat currencies, but all major and most exotic currency pairs (dozens) as well as over 45,000 tickers covering EVERY major asset class (stocks, bonds, forex & commodities as well as cryptos) from exchanges throughout the world. This is all capable at a sliding scale of 10 to 25 basis points, round trip. That's the equivalent of 5 bp to 12.5 bp per trade. In addition, all of this is done without UltraCoin having any possession of your funds, whatsoever. Veritaseum (the company behind UltraCoin) is a software concern, not a financial entity, thus you have no exposure to our balance sheet. We cannot MT. Gox you and you essentially have no counterparty, default or credit risk because your counterparty is the blockchain, and you trade peer to peer vs. through a centralized exchange. Pretty big difference from the legacy systems that we're all used to, no?

The Difference between Bitcoin 1.0 and Bitcoin 2.0 Companies

To begin with, I'd like to make clear that not only is the title misleading, but all references to the same are essentially inaccurate. Bitcoin itself is still in beta stage (0.9x) thus its not accurate to refer to 1st and 2nd generations of bitcoin businesses. If anything, we're all in beta. Now that I've gotten that off of my chest... The first bold generation of bitcoin entrepreneurs (it's amazing that you can refer to companies born 2 and 3 years ago as a previous generation, it just goes to show you how fast this space is moving!) built businesses based upon bitcoin as a legacy commodity. Basically, they bought, sold, transmitted or transferred it as a unit of value. They did this because that's how everything was done for the last several thousand years in the financial services industry. Basically, they had no choice - or so they thought. Then came those who read the Satoshi whitepaper and the bitcoin wiki and saw a very different meaning. My team and I are among those entrepreneurs. We saw that bitcoins were malleable, programmable, tools with which one can use to paint upon the canvas of value. A far cry from the moving of static financial widgets from place to place. Think of moving bitcoins around (bitcoin 1.0 companies) vs programming bitcoins to act on their own according to their contractual owner's wishes (bitcoin 2.0 companies) akin to pushing a model T Ford around town vs. programming your driverless electric Tesla to go by the grocery store to pick up some fresh produce before swinging by the school to pick up your kids on the way home to meet you to take your wife (girlfriend?) out to dinner.

A Real World Comparison of Bitcoin Companies

Tickers Available

Veritaseum's UltraCoin: ~45,000+
Asset Classes Available
Veritaseum's UltraCoin: Stocks, Bonds, Commodities, Forex, Cryptos and many indices
Costs Veritaseum's UltraCoin: up to 25 bp round trip for all products (primarily smart contract swap driven)
Leverage available: Veritaseum's UltraCoin: up to 10,000x, with finite digital P/L parameters (no margin calls, no negative account drawdowns)
How does Veritaseum do it? We program the bitcoin to act according to a mutual agreement between two or more parties, then send it to the blockchain to act accordingly. These agreements are self executing, unbreakable promises known as "Smart Contracts". In this case, they are highly customizable, P2P OTC swaps, but we are working on a multitude of other products, services and solutions as well. We also supply very high level, unconflicted, independent and impartial strategy and research for our customers. Since we don't use our balance sheet and we don't act as a principal, we have no incentive to skewer the research in any particular direction.

Smart Contracts as Transaction Vehicles: The Safest Possible Way To Exchange Value

Veritaseum's UltraCoin BTC-based smart contracts are: 1. highly flexible - you design your own derivatives yourself using your own parameters via our simple graphical user interface 2. self-executing 3. autonomous 4. unbreachable: we call them, the unbreakable promise! They are backed, fortified and stored by/on the Bitcoin blockchain itself 5. uber-transparent: simple click the "trace transaction" button to find the location and historical travel path of your assets anytime, from anywhere you have an internet connection

This is done at 1/150th of the price and at much less risk! When dealing with Veritaseum's UltraCoin, you can never get Gox'd because we never have (nor do we want) possession of your coins or fiat - every, at any time. Because we don't user our balance sheet (we are a software company, not a centralized exchange or brokedealer) you:
This is just the beginning of what is capable with bitcoin (and this is pure bitcoin, not altcoins, no tokens, no sidechains, just pure, old fashioned [at least as old as it can be considered] bitcoin) and 2.0 business models. Wait until you see the new stuff we'll be rolling out.
Any bitcoin-rich individuals or entities looking to provide liquidity to the system, individuals/compamies who wish to partner, accredited investors looking for a piece of the action (you have to be willing to sign and NDA, we are quite open to working with anybody), or those who simply want to shoot the breeze should feel free to contact us.
